The Copenhagen region is a functional region with 4 million inhabitants with an excellent infrastructure, making it easy to commute and live in the region. You can live in one place and work in another – you reach the whole region within 1, 5 hour.
In total, 71 000 people work in Helsingborg, 34% of whom are incoming commuters from the rest of the region. Around 18 000 of the residents of Helsingborg commute in the opposite direction, primarily to work in Malmö, Lund and Denmark. The total number of incoming commuters has increased by 30% over the last 10 years.
Helsingborg Central Station is the commuting hub in our part of the region, 63 000 commuters pass through every day by train, bus or ferry. 8 million passengers/year travel between Helsingborg-Elsinore. The ferry takes 20 minutes and departs every 15 minutes around the clock
