The Öresund region (Greater Copenhagen) has the largest concentration of highly educated people in northern Europe with 700 000 people having attained tertiary education level.
The region is home to 17 universities and higher education centers and 19 science parks with a total of some 140 000 students, 14 000 researchers, 8 500 PhD students and employs 15 000 academic staff. The most internationally reowned universities are Lund University, the University of Copenhagen and the Technical University of Denmark – all in one region. All of them rank among the top 150 universities in the world according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings. With 47 700 students, Lund University, including Campus Helsingborg, is the largest institute of higher education in the Greater Copenhagen region.
Campus Helsingborg was established in 2000 and currently offers approximately 30 degree programmes and 20 free-standing courses. It has nearly 4 500 students and 200 employees within fields such as strategic communication, logistics, retail, sustainability and service management. The research at Campus Helsingborg is conducted in close cooperation with other parts of Lund University and the regional business community.
