Helsingborg is the first city in Sweden to introduce an entirely new sewage and waste system.
Separate collection of greywater, food waste and waste from vacuum toilets allows for increased biogas production, recycled heat energy and a reduction of greenhouse gases by more than 50 percent compared to today’s system. There has been great international interest in the system and the ambition is for the system to be so smart and efficient that it can be an international export.
